Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo on 14-Day Self-Isolation

Ghanaian President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is, on the advice of doctors, on a 14-day self-isolation, after he had been exposed to someone within his close circle who tested positive for Covid-19.

A statement signed by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and released to the media on July 4 said the President’s decision to self-isolate was a precautionary measure in compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

“He has, as at today, tested negative, but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution”, the statement said.

Meanwhile Ghana’s case count of Covid-19, as of July 4, stood at 19,388, with number of recoveries/discharges pegged at 14,330.  The number of deaths recorded so far is 117.
