Breaking News: Joe Biden Picks California Senator Kamala Harris as Vice Presidential Running Mate
Democratic Presidential flag-bearer at the November 3, 2020 US election, former Vice President Joe Biden has picked California Senator, Kamala Harris as his Vice-Presidential running mate.
Mr. Biden’s campaign made the announcement August 11, fulfilling a promise he made in April to pick a woman as running mate. Early today, incumbent President Donald Trump mocked Biden on the option, suggesting men could feel insulted by that gender commitment.

Senator Harris becomes the first Black Woman to emerge as Vice Presidential running mate for a major political party in the United States of America. She also brings to the Democratic ticket an Indian following, since her mother is Indian and her father a Jamaican.
Talking about her heritage, Senator Harris says although her father abandoned while she was a child, leaving her Indian mother to raise her alone, the mother, however, recognized that she had to grow up as an African-American and she settled down to raise her that way.
This announcement puts an end to weeks of speculation as to who would be the number two on the Democratic ticket. In the last moments before the announcement, there was so much anxiety among African Americans who clearly considered the Black women had worked more than enough to deserve the spot.
